Dimitri Karagounis
President, Operations 

Dimitri Karagounis is an international executive with an extensive senior management/board of director’s background. Dimitri currently appointed as President, Operations of Intralot Latin America, while in July 2003 was assigned Chief Executive Officer of Intralot de Peru.

In 2000, he joined Telefonica, a word leading telecommunications operator as CEO of its subsidiary Atento Perú. Before joining Telefónica Group he has worked for multinational companies like Societé Generale de Surveillance, Bureau Veritas and Socotec; world leaders in certification services, quality assurance systems, monitoring of international trade and investments, risk analysis management, transfer of technology, and outsourcing services.

During his professional career he has successfully managed and developed subsidiaries acting as Chairman/C.E.O. or Regional Director in Europe, United States and the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia and Africa.

In addition he has lead projects in the different business sectors, (finance, insurance, transportation, telecommunications, consumer industry, commodities, etc.), providing strategic services with added economic value to the clients.

He has also negotiated and implemented contracts with governments (Ministries, Government Entities) and International Organizations (World Bank, IMF, European Union, IDB, United Nations).

He has studied in Greece, Switzerland and the United States, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences and Administration and an MBA from Webster University (School of Business and Technology).   He has also attended C.E.O.’s executive programs at Kellogg Graduate School of Management and The Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania).

Dimitri is Greek and Italian citizen with fluency in six languages .
