Yannis Rontiris

Mr. Yannis Rondiris is the Chief Executive Officer of INTRALOT South Africa, as of September 2006.

He holds a Degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and a M.Sc and a Ph.D in the same field from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST).

He started his professional career in 1981 as a Project Manager, responsible for projects in the area of Command and Control Information Systems for the Hellenic Armed Forces.

He continued his career in the IT industry, where he has assumed top management positions in companies, such as

•         DCC SA (Digital Equipment distributor) - General Manager (1983-1987)
•         Digital EquipmentHellas - Sales Manager (1987-1992) and General Manager (1992-1998)
•         Microsoft Hellas – General Manager and Managing Director (1999-2003)
•         Singular Group – Chairman and Managing Director (2004-2006)

He has served in the Board of several Business and Professional Organisations, such as

•         the Greek Information Society Observatory – Executive Chairman (2003-2004)
•         the New Economy Development Fund (TANEO) – Director and later on Chairman (2003-2006)
•         the Association of Greek CEOs - Director (1997-2006)
•         The Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce – Director in the Executive Committee (1997-2007)
