CHRISTOS DIMITRIADIS OF INTRALOT S.A. ELECTED INTERNATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT OF ISACA

Rolling Meadows, IL, USA (7 June 2010)—Christos K. Dimitriadis, CISA, CISM, head of information security of INTRALOT S.A., Greece, was elected international vice president of ISACA—a nonprofit association serving more than 86,000 IT governance, assurance and security professionals in 160 countries—at its International Conference in Cancun, Mexico, today.

Founded in 1969, ISACA develops international standards for information systems auditing and control, provides education and training, and administers the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC, pronounced see-risk) designations. Additionally, ISACA publishes COBIT—the internationally accepted framework for IT governance best practices, Val IT:  Based on COBIT—a tool set for unlocking the value of IT and managing IT-enabled business change, and Risk IT:  Based on COBIT—comprehensive guidance for managing business risks associated with IT initiatives.

At INTRALOT S.A., Dimitriadis managesinformation security in more than 50 countries in all continents. He has been working in the area of information security for 10 years and has authored 65 security-related publications in the field. He has been providing information security services to the International Telecommunication Union, European Commission Directorate Generals, European Ministries and international organizations, as well as business consulting services to entrepreneurial companies.

Dimitriadis has served ISACA as chairman of the External Relations Committee and member of the Relations Board, Academic Relations Committee, ISACA Journal Editorial Committee and Business Model for Information Security work group.

In addition to Dimitriadis, seven other IT professionals were elected to ISACA leadership positions. Emil D’Angelo, CISA, CISM, senior vice president of corporate data security, Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ, NJ, USA, was reelected international president. Reelected as vice presidents were José Angel Peña Ibarra, CGEIT, partner, Alintec, Mexico; Ria Lucas, CISA, CGEIT, manager, Investment Management Group of Telstra Corporation Ltd., Australia; Rolf von Roessing, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, partner, Advisory Practice of KPMG Germany; Robert Stroud, CGEIT, CA Technologies, New York, USA; and Kenneth L. Vander Wal, CISA, CPA, partner (retired), Ernst & Young, IL, USA. Also newly elected as vice president was Hitoshi Ota, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, CIA, GSEC (GIAC), senior manager, Mizuho Corporate Bank Limited, Tokyo, Japan.

Three directors were reappointed to ISACA’s board:  Greg Grocholski, CISA, senior finance director, Dow Chemical Co., MI, USA; Tony Hayes, CGEIT, AFCHSE, CHE, FACS, FCPA, FIIA, associate director-general, Department of Communities in Queensland, Australia; and Howard Nicholson, CISA, CGEIT, business analyst, City of Salisbury, Australia. Jeff Spivey, CPP, PSP, director, Security Risk Management, NC, USA, was reappointed trustee for the IT Governance Institute (ITGI).
