In Turkey the Inteltek consortium, in which INTRALOT and Turkcell participate, has successfully launched operations with two games and 1,000 terminals for Sportoto, the National Football Prognostics Organisation of Turkey

 The official start of operation took place early August with the launch of the games TARAFTAR and FUTBOL-SANS. This is the first successful implementation of such huge GPRS VPN network ever recorded in Lottery business. The whole network is covering 1,000 terminals, all of them installed in the total of 42 days and operated by new agents. The terminals used are ATRIS II and the central system LOTOS, both provided and supported by INTRALOT.

 During the process, only 0.42% defection rate was recorded as on-site support needed, in which 0.30% was communication and electricity related.

 The Help Desk is established in the business frame of Inteltek’s Dpt (Maintenance and Support Division) and is using new technologies and the advantages of IP Cisco telephony. The Help Desk’s operation is successfully combined with the B2B application, in order to integrate both technologies for having best management in Inteltek’s network. The telecommunication of the system is operating on Turkcell’s GSM 900.

 The operations are running successfully. The high-end technology combined with well-trained workforce guarantees effective and immediate service to customers.

 Mr Costas Georgoulas, Chief Operations Officer of Inteltek, commented: ”We offered Sportoto a fully integrated solution, using high and scalable technology and operating through modern telecommunication network. INTRALOT’s terminals and central system have proven once more their huge capabilities, which provide high levels of reliability, security and integrity to our customers.”

 It’s worth mentioning that the consortium undertook, following an international tender, a 5-year agreement for the upgrade of the on-line computer system of Sportoto, the National Football Prognostics Organisation of Turkey. The agreement has a renewal option and covers the gradual installation of up to 6.000 terminals and the introduction of 8 games. The new system supports the addition of new games and alternative distribution networks, including fixed and mobile telephony, Internet and digital TV.
