INTRALOT SIGNS CONTRACT WITH THE TWO STATE LOTTERIES OF MOROCCO

Following an international competitive selection process held jointly by the two gaming operators of Morocco, the National Lottery (‘Societe de Gestion de la Loterie Nationale’) and ‘La Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports’, INTRALOT has signed a contract to undertake the technical and commercial operation of the two Lotteries. The contract has an initial term of five (5) years, with an automatic two (2) year renewal option based on performance criteria. INTRALOT will partner with Omnidata, the leading IT company in Morocco, which will provide its expertise in the areas of systems implementation, integration and support services.

The two Lotteries are complementary organizations and operate a broad gaming portfolio that ranges from sports betting and numerical games, to instants and fast draw entertainment games, sharing a distribution network of over 1,400 points of sale throughout Morocco.

According to the contract, INTRALOT will deploy its flagship LOTOSTM O/S Central System and the games management software, and expand significantly the retail distribution network by installing more than 4,500 of its state-of-the-art terminals over the term of the contract. Additionally, will introduce interactive gaming channels, such as mobile phones and the internet, for the first time in Morocco through its innovative B-OnTM platform.

The company will undertake the operation of all games, including the risk management of fixed-odds sports betting, the management of instant tickets, and will provide additional services, including marketing and promotions, technical operation and maintenance, warehousing and distribution, design and management of the telecommunications  network, as well as training to retailers and Lotteries’ personnel. Finally, INTRALOT will have significant latitude to develop the Lotteries’ games portfolio by enhancing the current games and introducing new games throughout the contract duration.

Founded in 1971, the ‘Societe de Gestion de la Loterie Nationale’ is a private limited company under State control. It is in charge of the organization of the national lottery games, with a core business on the draw games and instant games. Its portfolio includes Lotto, Keno and other numerical games. In 2009, its gross sales were approximately €50million (561M Dirham).

"La Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports" MDJS, founded in 1962, is a limited company under State control. It holds the concession of the monopoly to organize sports betting games in Morocco, as well as raffles and instant games. In 2009, its gross sales were approximately €70million (789M Dirham).

The Minister of Youth and Sports of Morocco, Mr. Moncef Belkhayat, stated: “We are delighted to close this long process of negotiation with a new partner that committed to help us re-build the fundamentals of the gaming industry in Morocco".

Mr. Constantinos Antonopoulos, CEO of INTRALOT Group, commented on the agreement: “We are very satisfied to have won this prestigious contract, since the two Lotteries selected our pioneering technology and trusted our operational expertise to deliver on this demanding project. We have identified early in the process the great potential of the Moroccan market, and have embraced the Lotteries’ vision to evolve and grow their operations.
