INTRALOT SUPPORTS THE IAAF COUNCIL MEETING 2004

INTRALOT supported the annual Council Meeting of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), which took place last week in Athens. Panellinios A.C., the oldest Greek athletic club, organized the Meeting.

The 4-days meeting was separated in 2 sessions. The first included the IAAF Council discussions on the future development of the sport and the decisions taking on various subjects. The second session included the IAAF World TV Seminar, in which many TV Athletic producers and other experts participated. The main point of this session was the need to work with broadcasters closely, in order to promote the sport by the application of new technology (virtual reality, multi-channels, the Internet) in the world of broadcasting.

It is worth mentioning that, each year, more than 200 countries around the world are candidates for organizing this Meeting, but the IAAF Committee chose Athens. Moreover, the IAAF members had the opportunity to be informed on the progress of the Olympic preparations.

The IAAF is the highest authority for athletics in the world. Today, the IAAF has 211 affiliated National Member Federations and its executive authority rests with the IAAF Council, which is aided in its onerous task by a number of Committees and Commissions representing the various strands of the Athletics Movement.
INTRALOT considers its economic growth inseparably linked to its active involvement - through grants and sponsorships - in a wide spectrum of social events and initiatives that aim to advance the athletic and cultural status, while sports enjoy a prominent place in INTRALOT’s sponsorship agenda.
