PRIZE AWARDED TO BETTING COMPANY' S ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN
Betting Company S.A. was awarded the bronze medal for its advertisement campaign during the “Ermis Awards” 2003, known as the “Annual Festival of Greek Advertisements”.
Betting Company competed with the television spot of the fixed odds betting game “PAME STIHIMA, offered by OPAP, for whom it provides organizational and operational services. This particular spot was selected as one of the best in the category of Banking/Insurance and Finance Products/Tourism/Entertainment and Relevant Services and is part of a full media campaign, aiming to show that the habits of athletes before a big game and those of a regular fixed odds betting player are the same.
Before an important game, athletes tend to take extra care of themselves: they take care of their nutrition, they meditate and surely get an early night’s sleep. The spot portrays an everyday family, (parents and a young boy) seated in front of a TV watching the evening news. As the clock strikes nine, the mother says in a strict tone “Nine o’clock. Bedtime.” As the boy disappointedly prepares to leave the couch, the father gets up, gives a goodnight kiss to his family and leaves. The mother says to the boy, “He’s got a game tomorrow”. The father, of course, is not an athlete. His big game the next day is “PAME STIHIMA”, a betting game that requires knowledge, methodology, a clear head and passion for the game.

The winning TV spot is part of a trilogy, which deals with similar athlete habits. The campaign also runs on radio and will soon be adapted for outdoor media.
