SUPREME VENTURES,SPONSORS THE ANNUAL JAMAICA 2-YEAR-OLD HORSERACING SERIES

SUPREME VENTURES LIMITED (SVL) in partnership with CAYMANAS TRACK LIMITED (CTL), today announced the 7th running of the Supreme Ventures Jamaica 2-Year Old Horseracing Series, a three-part challenge for native bred horses.

The announcement was made during a joint press briefing at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, to which representatives from SVL, the promoting company (CTL), as well as the horseracing fraternity were in attendance. SVL will provide sponsorship in the amount of J$5.55m for the entire series, with an additional J$1m bonus, which will be up for ‘grabs’ by the owners of the horse that wins the three-race series. Paul Hoo, chairman of SVL, handed over the Sponsors Crystal Trophy to the CTL directors.

The three races have become the most exciting for 2-year-old horses on the calendar and have been dubbed the 2-year-old Triple Crown. This series is the first of its kind in Jamaica, the English- speaking Caribbean and possibly, the world and will take the form of three graded two-year-old races.

SVL will once again assign its lottery gaming brands to each race day in the popular horseracing series to be held at the Caymanas race track, located in Gregory Park, within the parish of St. Catherine.

The first leg of the horseracing series will be held on October 15, featuring the very exciting 1200m race for the Cash Pot ‘Only One For Me’ Trophy, with an attractive purse offering of J$2.95m for the winner. The second leg of the series gallops off on November 26, with ‘Pick3 Race Day’ and the final leg is slated for Jamaica’s public holiday (Boxing Day) on December 26, dubbed the ‘Supreme Ventures Race Day’.

Sonia Davidson, SVL’s Vice President of Group Corporate Communications who handed over the sponsor’s cheque said, “our company’s partnership for this horseracing series is borne out of a long standing relationship with CTL and extends way beyond the four horseracing meets we sponsor annually at the Caymans race track. Our association was further cemented last year when through CTL’s off-track betting parlours (OTBS), customers began wagering on international sporting events, with our sports betting brand – Justbet.”

Davidson further stated that, “SVL also has a very exciting promotion planned for patrons attending cash pot race day.”

Punters at the horse race meet who make single ticket purchases of $100 or more of the cash pot game at the SVL promotional booths, will get a coupon to complete correctly, to enter and “dip in the cash pot.” Prizes will be drawn throughout the race day in the winner’s enclosure, for patrons to win from J$1,000 to J$36,000 by dipping in a large cash pot. A total of ten winners will be selected during the event.

SVL is also the sponsor of the ‘lotto classic for the governor’s cup race’ run annually in the month of May and so, the company’s sponsorship of horseracing is very significant and underscores SVL’s commitment to Jamaica’s gaming industry.
