INTRALOT, the leading supplier of integrated gaming and transaction processing systems, enters the Central American gaming market through a newly signed agreement for the operation of lottery games in Guatemala, the duration of which is 10 years.

INTRALOT establishes a joint venture, together with International Gaming Limitada, SGLBVI Limited and VLTBVI Limited, in which INTRALOT is a majority shareholder. The operation of the lottery in Guatemala will be under the auspices of the “Fundación del Niño”, a foundation that is dedicated to the protection of children and whose funds support the children in need of Guatemala. SGLBVI Limited has acquired the contractual rights to operate an online lottery in the territory and VLTBVI Limited has been licensed for the operation of video lottery.

The company will offer to the Guatemalan market a range of numerical, instant and video lottery games, with possibility of further expansion of its gaming portfolio in the future. The project entails the provision of co-hosting services for the central system, microLOT terminals, communication equipment and services and all the related software and maintenance services.

The Republic of Guatemala is the most populous of the Central American countries with nearly 13 million inhabitants. Its GDP per capita reaches US$4,700. The service sector is the largest component of GDP, followed by agriculture and the industrial sector.
