MALTCO LOTTERIES LTD RECEIVES GLI APPROVAL

MALTCO Lotteries Ltd, a subsidiary of INTRALOT Group in Malta, has received approval by the Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) following a thorough evaluation of its Lottery System, including the new LOTOSTM O/S platform, the PHOTON Terminals, its Games, as well as the System associated procedures. The evaluation took place after a significant €5 million investment on technology made by MALTCO LOTTERIES following the 10-year licence awarded to the company in June 2012 for the operation of the National Lottery of Malta.

GLI’s evaluation of MALTCO LOTTERIES’ Games and System was positive as, according to its judgment, the System meets generally accepted industry practices. The comprehensive evaluation included Test/Usage case analysis, Testing/QA process, System monitoring, Incident handling process and procedures, Migration process and procedures, Security framework, Game configuration parameters, Error handling and Hardware faults tolerance.

The Random Number Generators (RNGs) used for MALTCO games were also thoroughly evaluated against lottery industry standards to ensure the random behaviour of game outcomes.

Commenting on the certification, Dr. John Katakis, MALTCO’s CEO stated: “The GLI certification sanctions MALTCO’s commitment to provide high quality products supported by the most advanced and reliable technology developed by INTRALOT. This commitment is tangibly apparent with the introduction of INTRALOT’s latest state-of-the-art technology, including LOTOSTM O/S central system platform and the tailor-made POS equipment chosen from the most versatile product line of on-line lottery terminals in the industry”.

Mr. Martin Britton, Managing Director of GLI Europe stated: “GLI was very pleased working with INTRALOT and specifically with MALTCO in evaluating and approving its Lottery System”.

The recent complete overhaul of the system that includes some of the most innovative gaming technology, together with the installation of the PHOTON terminals that incorporate the ICON digital camera technology, the Genion ticket checkers and the LOTOSTM HORIZON multimedia system for displaying games-related information in each of MALTCO’s 225 outlets, demonstrates MALTCO’s vision to offer innovative and advanced technology enabling maximum reliability and security for the ultimate benefit of its players.
