Maltco Lotteries Ltd through one of its major and popular games, U*BET will be the official sponsor for this year’s edition of the U*BET National Sports Awards (Ghazliet Sportivi Nazzjonali). This was announced during a Press Conference organized by the Sports Journalists Association (Ghaqda Gurnalisti Sportivi), held on Thursday 16th January 2014.

Mr.Charles Camenzuli, President of the Association explained that this year marks the 53rd Edition of the organization of this event. He explained that in all, there will be 5 main Awards’ categories. On behalf of the Association, Camenzuli thanked Maltco’s C.E.O., Dr Ioannis Katakis for entrusting the main sponsorship of such an important and prestigious Sport Event.

Dr. Ioannis Kakakis said that the U*Bet’s sportsbook incorporates a wide array of bets, featuring all the major international sports. This gives the opportunity to the local sports enthusiasts to get proactively involved into their preferred sports. 

Dr. Katakis also announced that next month, Maltco will be launching an ambitious project: Maltco together with the European Lotteries will organize an important Seminar, aiming to raise awareness and educate sports administrators about potential betting related risks and match fixing.

On behalf of Maltco Lotteries, Dr. Katakis wished the best of luck to all the finalists and stated that the company is eager to continue expanding its relationship with the Association in the coming years.

The National Sports Awards ceremony will take place on Friday 31st January at 8:30pm and will be broadcasted on the Maltese National TV Station some days after.
